Jackie Cochran was also a friend of Bobbi Trout. In 1938,
Jackie was awarded the General "Billy" Mitchell Award, which
was given to an American pilot who made the greatest
individual contribution to aviation for that year. In August of 1943,
General Hap Arnold asked Jackie to establish a
program to train women to fly, and under her leadership, the famous
Women's Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) group was formed.
Jackie Cochran's art print shows her in her flying scarf and pilot's cap and
captures her free spirit.
